I have already buy an AC current sensor like this (for my personal developments with Arduino)

Hi,

I think the LPC may not be the best Platform to build on. There is only one LPC in DIL technique: 8 bit ADC. According to your choosen 30 A current transformer, this resolution would be too coarse, I think. All other LPCs with embedded ADC are SMD components.
If you go and choose SMDs, some other MCUs come to mind, like the Microchip PIC18F86J72 16/24 ADC or (if you like the C51) various ADUC units from Analog Devices.

The other possibility is to use a mikrocontroller and a separate ADC (but I would think all high resolution ADCs are SMD).

I would like to measure voltage and current at the same time, to be able to calculate energy and cos(phi). That would be interesting.

With an ADC controller

Or P89LPC933/934/935/936 have an 8-bit ADCs , why not...

ich bin mal so frei und antworte in deutsch :-)

Ich habe mal herumgestöbert und diesen Beitrag gesichtet:

Wenn man mal von den bekannten Anfeindungen dort absieht, entdeckt man dass
in dem Reichelt Enegry checker(http://www.reichelt.de/?ARTICLE=88135) dieser chip http://www.cirrus.com/en/products/cs5460a.html
oder dessen Nachvolger verbaut ist.

Diese IC's stellen meist ein pulse zu Verfügung den wir mit dem freebus Universalzähler ausweten könnten.

If you need an ADC you can even use the AVR controller.
There is everything in hardware on the microcontroller available.
