Hi

I need some advice to continue testing the "Tasterschnittstelle 8-fach LPC"


I finished building the kit I got from the freebus Online Shop.

So, I guess that the LPC uC is empty and it has to be flashed. (am I correct?).

I understand that a LPC programmer is necessary. (right?) no simpler way is possible (RS232, etc..)

Could someone answer those questions:
1- the firmware (hex) file has to be downloaded from freebus git repository ? where exactly ?
2- Is there a special version to use it as a 8 way button interface (with no led) ? (is it possible, or only 4 button + LED)
3- what is the simplest solution to get a LPC programmer ?
I see on ebay, as mentioned on the german forum:

It seems that the USB programmer mentioned on the freebus site is not available in the freebus shop.

No, this programmer is not working with the p89LPC9xx family.

you can also use the in8 soft (newer backend soft)working with DIN RAIL Module from my page

Hello !

I have bad experiences with the freebus programmer (Seems to be that you can use it only in ISP mode, not with integrated DIP support).

I have bought that one:

I bought it at Mouser (about 20 €).

It has many nice features (eg. ISP, but also ICP when you have erased the bootloader...), and I am really happy with it.

The file for the µC is on the page of the tasterschnittstelle (but you have to be logged to see it)

I received TeamFDI USB-Dongle:


Pierre-Marie: How did you connect the usbdongle to the BCU ?
There is the connector with 6 signals on the BCU :
VCC, VCC_IN, RST, TXD, RXD, GND

On USB Dongle, one can find J3 connector that can be connected to sample boards.
There is also connector J2 (6 pin).

Do you use J3 or J2 ?

I use jumper J3.
Perhaps it will be easier to have your adress for private explaination (even better, if you are french -as the name seems to be-, on the phone...).

Hi,

First of all, thanks to Pierre-Marie for the useful hints he provided.

Eventually, I managed to have the full process work:
- building
- programming (with teamFDI usb programmer, in ICP mode)
- programming with ETS4
- testing with actuator on BUS

The problems I got were:
- I could not find the hex file on the site, because I selected "English" as language, and the page where the hex file is located is only visible when in German mode.
- I programmed one BCU with a wrong hex file: in8Taster.hex, and I could not recover the BCU, it seems it did not like it, even ICP mode does not work.
- I purchased a daughter board: DB-TSSOP-LPC922, to go with teamFDI's USB-DONGLE programmer, it's helpful to test flashmagic software, but using it to access J3 signals (on USB-DONGLE) works, but I did not like to have 2 LPC in parallel
- So I built a custom connector, this was the trickiest part, to access the J3 connector with all signals, including ISP and ICP.

Now that I have validated my ability to use the device, I have to count how many of them I need.
